Dr. Bloedel discovered his love for veterinary medicine while studying Biology during his undergraduate career and working in a small animal veterinary clinic. He has always had a devotion for learning, caring, and teaching about all species of animals.
Dr. Bloedel’s passion is to practice exotic animal medicine along with all of the small animal companions. He especially loves working with avian and reptile species.
Dr. Bloedel is joining the East Ventura Animal Hospital after graduating from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Bloedel graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina. During his four years in veterinary school, he focused on exotic animal medicine working with several different wildlife, zoo, and exotic animal programs. He was recently awarded the Dr. Burchfield-Whitson scholarship from UGA for his pursuit in exotic animal medicine.
When Dr. Bloedel is not in the office treating his patients, he can be found spending time outdoors with his wife, Kathryn, surfing, hiking, and exploring the California coast. Dr. Bloedel and Kathryn also love to spend time with their three pets Oscar, Charlie, and “Birdie Bird” while relaxing at home.
“I am excited to join the Ventura community, and I can’t wait to meet all of your wonderful pets!” – Dr. Tyler Bloedel
